The Design protects the esthetic characteristics of a product.
The Design is also a distinctive sign covering
the exterior shape of a product; it includes to a large extent any
esthetic form having a utilitarian role.
The protection of the design is subject to conditions such as novelty and a specific character; it allows obtaining exclusive rights to market the product. In all cases it is better to check the validity of the design before applying for its protection.
In Morocco, this title has a limited 15-year protection period. The filing is for an initial period of 5 years, renewable twice.
The filing of the design is only valid within a given territory (a country or group of countries).
